What is the difference between Mbps and MB/s?
Mbps (Megabits per second) measures raw network bandwidth, while MB/s (Megabytes per second) measures actual file transfer size. Since 1 Byte = 8 bits, 1 MB/s is equal to 8 Mbps. For example, a 100 Mbps broadband connection has a theoretical maximum download speed of 12.5 MB/s.
